Project Teams

Over the years EDUF has been involved with many teams of volunteers that have gone to Africa to work on construction projects, library projects, teaching seminars and various kinds of technical support, including carrying in laptops or other equipment needs.

A few of the teams are pictured here by means of cell phone snapshots that are not high quality but are posted to give you a glimpse of the variety of experiences the volunteers have had on their trips.

All of the trips include worship and prayer with the national church members, some hours of local souvenir shopping and some sight-seeing.

EDUF is eager to set up another Work and Witness Trip to Africa, maybe as early as 2023. To keep you informed, sign up for our newsletter.

Global Work & Witness:

When we go, we can do many different things:

We can teach and train.

We can work in the libraries.

We can work on buildings and infrastructure of the institutions.

We can encourage others.

We can love and build relationships.

We can lead teams of others who have never been to Africa.

We can learn more about Africa that we can share when we return home.

We can be amazed at what God is doing.

Visit to College Campus

This was a very unique trip, one that EDUF would be pleased to try to replicate sometime in the future. The trip was organized by the late Frank Ruckman, husband of Sylvia Ruckman. Several current members of the board of EDUF were also on the trip. Traveling different routes, missionaries Jon and Margaret Scott met the group in three different countries: Mozambique, Kenya and Malawi.

From one of the travelers, Heather Bryant stated: “I traveled with the EDU Foundation to visit 8 schools in 5 countries within the Church of the Nazarene. From this visit, I decided to dedicate about 6 months to learning more about higher education in Africa. Outcome…found dear friends following giant sized dreams. Praying for the development in education and ministry preparation.” On her Facebook page, Heather posted 200 photos from the trip!!!

The eight schools in five countries were these:

2 in Kenya: Africa Nazarene University and Nazarene Bible College East Africa

1 in Malawi: Nazarene Theological College of Central Africa

1 in Mozambique: Seminario Nazareno em Mocambique

2 in South Africa: Nazarene Theological College of South Africa and Arthurseat Vocational School

2 in Swaziland: the theological college, the nursing school and the teachers’ college
